this evening, with widespread dense fog possible over the
nearshore waters west of Intracoastal City tonight and into
Saturday morning. Some of this fog will push into at least the
southern portions of Sabine and Calcasieu Lakes. The combination
of daytime heating and increasing south winds is expected to
erode the fog by midday Saturday.

Advisory, which is in effect until 6 AM EST Saturday.

* LOCATIONS...Chautauqua county.

* TIMING...The Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through late
  tonight...mainly for elevations above 1000 feet. The High Wind
  Watch is in effect from overnight Saturday night through early
  Sunday evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph on Sunday.

* VISIBILITIES...Near zero at times across the higher terrain.

* IMPACTS...Poor travel conditons across the higher terrain
  overnight. Strong to damaging winds possible on Sunday. Shallow
  rooted trees may be downed more easily with the recently thawed
  and saturated soil conditions. Travel may become hazardous for
  high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds of 58 mph or greater could produce property damage,
including downed trees and power lines that could result in power

.As of mid evening, dense fog has already formed along and near
Matagorda Island with an expansion of dense fog expected farther
south along the Texas Coast overnight. Fog conditions are
expected to worsen through late evening and the early morning
hours of Saturday. However, by late in the night the wind
direction and speeds may become less favorable for dense fog to
occur from Port Aransas southward. Dense fog is likely to persist
through mid morning along Matagorda Island towards Point Comfort.
